Chasing a Dream: Borderless Stage
Migration is a journey filled with unique stories—some of hope, others of hardship. These stories gain meaning when shared, bringing people together and strengthening social bonds. Borderless Stage is dedicated to giving these voices a stage, fostering inclusion, integration, and a sense of belonging through the power of art.
APIDA e.V. (Berlin) and Atölye Tiyatrosu (Istanbul) have joined forces to amplify the voices of migrants and refugees, support their integration into society, and use theatre as a unifying tool. Onur Oğuz Dellal and Savaş Mutlu, two passionate theatre enthusiasts, are creating an inclusive platform for young migrants, refugees, and disadvantaged youth in Berlin. This theatre is not just a stage; it is a bridge for intercultural dialogue, community engagement, and social cohesion.
Why Borderless Stage?
Berlin is home to people from all over the world—a city where cultures and stories converge. Yet, many migrants and refugees struggle to express themselves, often feeling excluded. Borderless Stage is here to give these individuals a voice, a space to share their stories, and a path to connect with the community.
This theatre will:
- Provide young migrants and refugees with opportunities to express themselves.
- Use innovative educational methods to support their integration and enhance their sense of inclusion.
- Bring migrant stories to life through theatre, fostering cultural understanding in Berlin and beyond.
Our Vision: More Than Inclusion, Building Unity
1. Theater Workshops: Integration Through Expression
We will organize free theatre training and creative drama workshops for young migrants and refugees:
- Creative Drama and Theatre Techniques: Building confidence, emotional expression, and visibility in society.
- Teamwork and Leadership Skills: Practical training to develop social and personal abilities.
- Cultural Exchange Activities: Strengthening community bonds by fostering mutual understanding among participants from diverse backgrounds.
2. Educational Programs: Supporting Integration with Creativity
Harnessing the educational power of art, we aim to develop communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills:
- Integration Through Theatre: Helping young people build connections, express themselves, and actively participate in society.
- Intercultural Dialogue: Promoting cultural exchange between migrant youth and the local community.
3. Stage Performances: Giving Stories a Voice
