The Intercultural e-Debate | Online

“Amplify your voice and broaden your horizons through global dialogue with the Intercultural e-Debate!”

The Intercultural e-Debate is an innovative online learning platform that brings together young people from diverse cultural backgrounds to enhance their communication skills and foster intercultural learning. Hosted by APIDA e.V. and funded by the Deutsch-Türkische Jugendbrücke, the project aims to create a dynamic virtual space for participants to engage in critical thinking, public speaking, and respectful dialogue.

The project boasts a rich lineup of activities that took place from May 21 to May 28, 2021, with 32 participants from 14 countries, including Germany, Turkey, Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Egypt, Palestine, Azerbaijan, India, Romania, Lithuania, and Bulgaria. The online venue offered a safe and accessible space for participants to explore different cultures and learn from each other.

Throughout the project, participants engaged in a series of educational and cultural activities that culminated in a spirited online debate. The project highlighted the value of non-formal learning, with participants experiencing virtual cultural nights, online yoga sessions, and interactive workshops on debate and debate culture. These activities provided participants with a unique opportunity to expand their knowledge, skills, and perspectives in a supportive and inclusive environment.

The selection process for the project was held in April 2021, with a rigorous screening process to ensure that the chosen participants were committed, motivated, and open-minded. The project organizers were delighted to see the enthusiasm and creativity that the participants brought to the online sessions, with lively discussions, insightful questions, and powerful speeches.

Overall, the Intercultural e-Debate was a resounding success, demonstrating the power of online platforms to bring together young people from different corners of the world to build bridges, foster understanding, and create a more inclusive and peaceful world. The project organizers are already planning future editions of the project, with the aim of reaching even more young people and amplifying the impact of intercultural learning.
